Maple and Azure

New art, woop~
~Fionaa-chan's character, Azure, and my own Maple (whom was inspired by Azure)!

I kinda thought about doing something with a more active, adventurous feel, which would be good practice, and fit the characters very well. However, this pose pair got drawn first during some random art doodles. (That's not to say another picture is out of the question. o3o)
As I drew it, I was thinking about how a starry sky would look, with the two relaxing by a fire. But then, taking their size into consideration (which is naught but a few inches tall), I tried this out, taking my camera close to the ground, and I realized how a starry sky wouldn't work so easily, with their setting being a forest and with them being stuck on the ground, so I settled with a forest backdrop, which is fine.

So, usually, I go with a more abstract background. In rare cases, I outline all of it. And sometimes, I just go with the digital brush. This was one of those times. When this background first started, as usual, I just knew "oh boy, this won't end well." But even if it is a blurry mess of green, brown, and black (which is best viewed from afar, which isn't so good, for characters are best viewed up-close), this background came out a lot better than I expected. ^^

As far as the characters go, there isn't much to tell, which means there isn't much to complain about.
For my first time coloring Maple like this, I think I'm happy with the color scheme. And I hope you're happy with the coloring for Azure, Fiona.
I feel like I messed something up, but I'm not sure where - maybe she's not kiddy-looking enough?
